Sustainability

ACC Sustainability Program is our commitment to accelerate progress toward a transparent global cocoa supply chain, to enable cocoa farmers and their communities to achieve better incomes and living standards sustainably, and to deliver a sustainable supply of cocoa products.

This aspiration is reinforced by our five sustainability Goals which are aligned with the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

  • 100% Farm mapping and 100% cocoa traceable from  farms to chocolate makers by 2025.
  • 100% supply chain transparency guaranteed (mobile money payment to farmers).
  • 100% Deforestation Risks Assessments and Monitoring of farms.
  • 100% Child labor free Cocoa by 2025.
  • 10% of Women involved in supply chain by 2025.

This also includes how we source other ingredients, run our factories safely, decrease our environmental impact and govern our business with integrity.

ACC sustainability is developed with three driving objectives:

  • Conservation of National Parks and forested land, as well as restoration of forests that have been degraded by human activities, in particular encroachment by cocoa farms among other factors.
  • Sustainable intensification and diversification of income in order to increase farmers’ yields and livelihood, to grow “more cocoa on less land” and thereby reduce pressure on forests.
  • Engagement and empowerment of cocoa-growing communities.

To reach our goals, every initiative is guided by the following principles :

  • Transparency and Assurance : We built a supportive ecosystem to monitor our supply  chain, financial and transparency impact, including third-party assurance through certification programs.
  • Evidence-based : We continuously learn and adjust to improve the impact of our work and better equip all of our partners for a more sustainable future.
  • Scalable : We design programs that are adaptable across the local contexts of different sourcing regions.
  • Technology-driven : We harness the power of technology to rapidly and effectively deploy our programs at scale.
